Administrative Law

Once a public authority calls on any privat person or company to do/stop anything or, in turn, is asked to provide services or payments, this generally happens on the basis of administrative law. This includes parking tickets as well public subsidies, public accident prevention as well as preventive police actions. One can easily imagine how extensive this field of law must be. Moreover, in Germany due to it’s federal structure, federal and state acts co-exist, complicating things even more.

Administrative law as well encompasses provisions on administrative procedure and objections, on administrative court procedure, and on enforcements of administrative court decisions. Procedure rules differ substantially from criminal procedure or civil procedure.
